It was a beautiful day out on the river.  Eighteen anglers and two Little Tanglers came out to enjoy the warmer weather.  All the rain during the week didnt seem to affect the fishing much as evident by the numbers of fish brought to the scales.  Some solid weights were brought in.  On top was Lawrence Lemoine with a nice limit weighing 9 lbs. 1oz.  Behind him was Jason Pittman with a 7 lbs. 14 oz. limit.  Third was taken by Gerald James who brought in one beautiful fish.  That fish weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz. which was also the big fish of the day.  The Little Tanglers division was won by Gavin Basey.  Gavin had two fish that went 3 lbs. 12 oz.

With the warmer weather and hunting seasons wrapping up anglers showed up in big numbers today on Lock 1  Thirty-four people signed up this morning at the launch.  Ronald Pierre made a repeat from last year and claimed the win again this year.  With similar conditions to the tournament last year Ronald looked back in his book and did the same thing he did just with a different lure.  He brought in a 10 lbs. Limit with a 4 lbs. 5 oz. kicker to win and capture the big fish honors.   In second we had a tie between Clay Zeringue and David Howell.  Both anglers brought in 7 lbs. 9 oz.  Jimmy Dorris was in third with 7 lbs. 4 oz.  Fourth went to Ricky Benitez with a 6 lbs. 8 oz. bag.  Rounding up the winners was Lawrence Lemoine who had a 6 lbs. 7 oz. bag to claim fifth.

2015 Bass Assassin season has started.  Today 25 anglers showed up at the Main Street launch to compete in the 2015 opener on Bayou Lacombe.   Everyone was excited about getting on the water to compete for a spot in the classic in 2016. A thick fog blanketed the area all morning.   The bayou was full of boats waiting to be called out.  After setting up the scale there was soon a line of anglers with bags of fish.  It was obvious that the fishing has been heating up.  There was 57 bass brought to the scale to weigh in for a total of just under 80 lbs. of bass. Jason Pittman was the first of the year to punch his ticket to the 2016 classic by winning today.  Jason brought in a limit weighing 8 lbs. 3 oz. to clain first.  Following right behind him with two beautiful bass was Travis Young.  Travis's two fish went 8 lbs. 1 oz.  His biggest one was 4 lbs. 10 oz. which was good enough for big fish.  Richard Bennett brought home third with a 7 lbs. 7 oz. limit.  A 5 lbs. 8 oz. Limit was brought in by Kevin Williams to take the fourth place spot.
